Import customers with CSV

Add or update customers from a CSV and fix leftover rows

Use a CSV to add or update customers in myne and put them in a group. Matching columns update the profile, including custom properties. Rows that cannot apply wait on Customer imports so the rest of the file can finish.

For custom property column formats, export, and leftover rows, see Import advanced customer fields with CSV.

Start a CSV import

Log in, then download the sample file if you want a starting template.

  1. Go to Customers.

  2. Select Import CSV (top right).

  3. Download the sample CSV. It covers core columns only — add custom property headers from an export or from Settings → Brand → Properties.

  4. Fill the file, then select Upload CSV.

How to set up the file

You need a first name plus an email and/or phone to create or update a customer. Blank cells do not overwrite existing data.

Required

  • First name

  • Email and/or phone

Optional profile

  • Last name

  • Birth dateYYYY-MM-DD

  • Postal code

Optional marketing opt-in (use true or false). Leave a cell blank to leave consent as it is.

  • Marketing opt-in SMS

  • Marketing opt-in email

  • Marketing opt-in push

Optional loyalty (when your brand supports them)

  • myne Cashback

  • myne Points

Custom properties and extra columns

A column whose header matches a custom property Label (the same header as a customer export) updates that property on the profile. Blank cells leave the existing answer.

Columns that do not match a core field or a custom property are still kept with the import. You can use that extra data when you build customer groups or automations.

For how to format each property type and round-trip an export, see Import advanced customer fields with CSV.

Rows that need a look

A bad cell does not stop the rest of the file. After upload, a short message tells you how many imported and how many need review.

Open Customer imports from the clipboard on Customers, or from the job after upload. Fix the row, then Apply, Map it onto someone already in myne, or Skip it. Duplicate rows in the same file can be mapped or skipped, not applied.

See Import advanced customer fields with CSV for typical review reasons and what Apply, Map, and Skip do.

Updating existing groups

To replace who is in a group, import using the same group name and include the full list you want. The import replaces the group's membership rather than only adding to it.

To rename or delete a group, open it under Customers, then use the three dots. Deleting a group does not delete the customers — only their membership of that group.

Automations

A CSV import can create and update records that then sync to connected apps. Customer groups in myne can sync as tags in your POS and loyalty platforms.

For example, if Lightspeed and Marsello are connected and you import a list called Staff, myne creates or updates that customer group and those people can be tagged in the connected apps.

Helpful tips:

  • Renaming a group in myne updates the tags in connected apps (the old tag is removed and the new name is added).

  • Deleting a group removes the old tags from connected apps.

  • Deleting a group does not delete the customer in myne or in connected apps.
