Map Gmail domains to businesses

Link sender domains to businesses and contacts

When Gmail syncs mail into myne, myne looks at the sender’s email domain to decide which business or contact the conversation belongs to. Domain mappings is where you review those domains and link them to the right accounts.

Do this after you connect Gmail and before you run a large historical sync, when you can.

Open Settings -> Integrations -> Gmail -> Domain mappings.

What you are deciding

Each row is an email domain (for example supplier.com.au) that has appeared in synced mail. For each domain you choose:

  • Whether it represents a Business, a Contact only person, or should be Excluded or marked Internal.

  • Which business account it links to, when the domain belongs to a company you work with.

Team inbox mail always syncs to Shared Inbox regardless of domain mapping, including aliases on that mailbox.

Work through the list

Use the focus buttons at the top to narrow what you see:

  • Needs review - domains myne is not confident about yet. Start here.

  • Unmapped businesses - domains that look like businesses but are not linked to an account.

  • All - every domain myne has seen.

Search by domain or business name when you know what you are looking for.

Update a domain

Open a row and set its Category:

  • Business - link the domain to an existing business, or create one from the mapping.

  • Contact only - treat senders on this domain as individual contacts, not a company account.

  • Excluded - ignore mail from this domain (for example newsletters or automated senders).

  • Internal - your own organisation’s domains.

  • Needs review - leave flagged until someone checks it.

Select Save on the row. You can also select several domains and apply a category in bulk.

To add a domain before it appears in mail, select Add mapping.

When you are done

When the domains you care about are classified and linked, run Sync historical on each mailbox on the Connection tab if you want past conversations in myne. Check Sync history if a sync fails or mail is missing.
