Turn on Objects, define types, then keep records on businesses and contacts

Objects are records you define for things that are not people, businesses, or tasks — for example equipment on an account, a catering job, or a POS install. Each type has its own fields, and records can sit on a business, a contact, or both.

Turn Objects on, then define the types you will use. After that, your team can add records from Objects in the sidebar, or from Related Objects on a business or contact.

Turn Objects on

Objects stay hidden until you enable them.

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations → Objects.

  2. Turn on Enable Objects.

Objects then appears in the sidebar. Define types under Settings → Brand → Objects.

Define an object type

  1. Go to Settings → Brand → Objects.

  2. Select New type.

  3. Enter a Name and Plural name (for example Asset / Assets).

  4. Under Links to, choose Businesses, Contacts, or both.

  5. Select Create.

Expand the type to add properties with Add property. Use the same field types as other custom properties in myne, including Amount for money and Number for a plain figure.

A Link property is a URL field — a spec, booking page, or similar. It is not a relationship to another record. Account relationships are the Links to checkboxes.

Select Save changes to rename a type. You can only Remove type if it has no records yet.

Where records live

Open Objects in the sidebar. Each type has its own list. Select New followed by the type name (for example New asset), enter a Name, and select Create.

On a business or contact, the Related Objects tab appears when at least one type links to that kind of account. You can create a record there already linked to the account you are on.

Objects work alongside businesses and contacts. See Introduction To Business Profiles if you are still setting up accounts.
