How customers join and earn Square Loyalty points
See how customers join your Square Loyalty program through myne or Square, and earn points across connected sales channels.

When customers join your Square Loyalty program, they can earn points across Square and your other connected sales channels. Square manages the program and awards points for sales at its register. myne links customers to that program, shows their balance and activity, and adds points for eligible purchases made elsewhere.
The points name and earning rules come from your Square Loyalty dashboard. For example, if customers earn one Star per $1 spent in Square, connected ordering apps such as me&u use that same name and rate. Points are not added for past purchases, and this setup does not create a welcome offer. See How Square Loyalty works to turn on the integration.
How customers join
Through myne: When someone completes a connection form or check-in with a phone number, myne finds or creates their Square customer record and enrols them in Square Loyalty. Their profile then shows Square loyalty: accrual active under Loyalty balance. A phone number is required; without one, myne does not enrol them or show an error.
Through Square: When someone joins at the Square register, myne looks for an existing customer profile, matching by phone number first and then email. If it finds one, it links the loyalty account and turns on earning. A Square signup alone does not create a new customer in myne; if there is no match, myne skips the signup.
Customers imported from Square who have not joined loyalty can also start earning if Auto-start accruing for Square-sourced customers is on. When it is off, they need a registered myne profile or must join loyalty before myne adds points for other orders or automations. Until then, their profile may show Square loyalty: linked — awaiting myne profile to accrue.
How customers earn points
Square awards points for eligible sales at its register. myne shows these as Earn Points in the customer’s activity and does not add them again.
For eligible paid orders from other connected sources, such as online ordering or Shopify, myne adds points to the customer’s Square Loyalty balance using Square’s earning rules.
Adjust a customer’s points
Automations can Add points or Remove points from a customer’s Square Loyalty balance. Staff can do the same from the customer profile: under Loyalty balance, select Adjust beside the Square points name, then choose Add points or Remove points. If the customer has not joined Square Loyalty, myne asks you to add them first.
The customer’s activity also shows rewards redeemed at the register as Redeem Promo, along with Adjust Points and Expire Points events from Square. See Square Loyalty rewards for how rewards work.
